Walhalla Ravine
The Walhalla Ravine is located in Central Clintonville in Columbus, Ohio. The stream runs next to and under a road so there are many storm drains people could dump waste into.
So far we have applied stickers that read "No Dumping; Drains to River" to ten storm drains in the ravine. We hope that this will discourage people from dumping any trash, debris or hazardous waste into the drains and raise awareness about where anything dumped into them goes and how it can contribute to water pollution and endanger wildlife.
When we attempted to pick up trash and any other forms of pollution in the Walhalla Ravine, we came across very little. This is because the ravine already has a group that regularly cleans up the area.
